Ad Blockers
An ad blocker doesn't just hide banners — it strips the cookie your cashback rides on. This page is how you get it back.
What You’ll See
If your browser is blocking the cookie, we stop you before the store rather than after. Which of the two windows you get depends on what the blocker actually costs you:
Seeing it is good news, oddly enough: it means we caught the problem while it was still fixable. Shopping through a blocked browser without that warning is how people end up filing claims that cannot be won.
A blocked cookie costs you everything on a cashback click: no cookie, no commission, nothing to pay you. So we stop the redirect.
A promo code is a different animal. It is typed in at the checkout — cookies have no say in whether it works. What you lose is only the cashback on top. So we don't take the code away from you: withholding a working discount to protect our own commission would be a strange way to treat you. We just tell you what is about to be lost — the warning above.
Fix It in Three Steps
- Switch off the blocker for this purchase. Click its icon in the toolbar and pause it, or add
secretdiscounter.netand the store's own domain to the allowlist. Allowlisting only us is not enough — the cookie is set on the way into the store. - Allow third-party cookies. The tracking cookie is set by the affiliate network, not by the store — which is precisely why the store can read it and know we sent you. Browsers file that under "third-party". Block them, and cashback cannot work at all.
- Reload and go again. Come back to the store's page on SecretDiscounter and press Activate. If the warning is gone, tracking is live.
Extensions That Block Cashback
Ad blockers are the obvious ones. But other coupon and cashback extensions are worse: they don't strip our cookie, they overwrite it with their own. The purchase tracks perfectly — to somebody else. Not sure what's installed? Here's where to find them in every browser
Browsers That Block by Default
You may not have installed anything at all. Several browsers ship with blocking switched on:
- Brave — Shields are on out of the box, and they block third-party cookies. Click the lion in the address bar and drop Shields for this site.
- Opera — has its own ad blocker built in. Settings → Basic → Block ads, switch it off.
- Safari — Intelligent Tracking Prevention blocks third-party cookies by default. Settings → Privacy, uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking for the purchase.
- Edge — Tracking prevention on Strict stops the cookie. Set it to Balanced, or add an exception.
- Chrome and Firefox in strict privacy modes do the same. Check the shield icon in the address bar.
Antivirus Can Do It Too
Security suites often carry a banner blocker that behaves exactly like an ad blocker. The usual suspects: Kaspersky (Anti-Banner), Norton (Safe Web / Ad Blocker), Avast and AVG (Web Shield), Bitdefender (Anti-tracker).
- Open your antivirus settings.
- Find the section on web protection. It will be called Protection Center, Web Shield, Privacy, or similar.
- Switch off the banner / ad / tracker blocking component. Leave the antivirus itself running — you only need that one module off.
- Close the settings window and try the store again.
Still Nothing?
- Are you in a private or incognito window? They discard cookies. Shop in a normal one.
- Did you clear cookies between activating and paying? That erases the tracking. Never clear them mid-purchase — see the Cookie Policy.
- Was the basket filled before you came through us? Empty it, come through us again, refill it. The rest of the traps are in the Shopping Rules.
- Nothing above worked? Open a ticket — tell us your browser and which extensions you have, and we'll work it out with you.
